The Osteria Bonanni is like the sacred mushroom pits: whoever finds it will make sure that no one else discovers it. But we are not like that. When you enter, you immediately notice the simple authentic guest room, but it is not uncomfortable – quite the opposite. Many details have certainly only been changed selectively for over 60 years. It has only been freshly painted or carefully maintained. All tables are filled with regular guests down to the last seat and everything is brightly lit like a big stage. The “stage” of Maurilio, the son of Mauro, he loves to walk from table to table and to smash the card with an honorable bass to his guests. This will be associated with the place for a long time to come. Meanwhile the father, Mauro, cuts the bread, fills the wine into the carafes, writes the bill, of course in lire, which always triggers a small shock among the payers, but is then calculated at the last minute with an old calculator. At noon Mauro likes to hear football leaning against the door frame, with his old portable radio on his ear. The queen of the kitchen, and one of the best cooks in Tuscany, is Marisia, the daughter of the house. She cooks so well that especially her pasta Cinghiale (wild boar sauce) will live on as a lifelong longing in everyone. Legendary are also the Linguine with truffles, the Pasta with asparagus cream, the Bistecca Fiorentina and the Rosticiana (grilled meat) with white beans.
